The Experience of Families Caring for Asthma Sufferers During the COVID-19 Pandemic in Indonesia: A Qualitative Research

Familial support was essential to the care of asthma patients during COVID-19 pandemic. It helps clients in making decisions. The purpose this study explain experience families providing and effects family on patient pandemic Indonesia. This qualitative conducted using a content analysis approach three East Java Province, Data were collected from 3 families, semi-structured interviews between 2020 2021. subjects all which some members had asthma. Sampling done purposeful technique with maximum variation. Immediately after each interview, transcribed Word software. one individual at time family’s home. analyzed conventional method simultaneous data collection based five steps. showed main themes: burdens disruption when relapsed, mask, keeping up stamina, mind relaxed, staying away crowds as an effort prevent asthma, pharmacological non-pharmacological treatments carried out by families. burden faced disease recurs can be curbed through taking anticipatory measures that involve cooperation members. also plays vital role limiting patient’s activities relapses.
